Vintage Gowns
Vintage gowns come in many styles Some are related to history or themes such as the medieval princess look, the Charleston swing era of the roaring 20s, fairy tale weddings while others are modern casual or formal.
The medieval style dress is focused on the old English design with its wide bottom sleeves and a high-banded waist. If you plan a medieval theme wedding, you may choose a gown of rich colors with embroidered gold details. Otherwise, you can enjoy this style of gown adapted to the 21st century be having your white or ivory gown designed with a high waist and sleeves with beautiful flowing wide chiffon cuff.
Charleston era of the roaring 20s Gowns.
These styles will flatter an slim - slender bride.
A style of a gown fasioned after the roaring twenties is loose at the waist and tight around the hips(hip hugger style).
It is usually sleeveless, has a deep neckline and shows plenty of skin around the chest, back and arms.
The gown has a flowing zig zag like hemline and is sewn with light and flowing fabrics.
A bride who chooses the Charleston era as the theme of her wedding, and wishes to depict the trend of the day should wear a tight fitting crocheted hat embroidered with beads around the face and forehead, over either very short, or hair that is pulled back from the face.
Romantic or fairy tale gowns
These are the wedding gowns that are full of romance and glamour.
The Romantic or fairytale gown has a tight structured lace corset and bodice and a not so full skirt sewn of rich, luxurious fabric. It should be worn over a petticoat.
Another version suggests a gown with a more elaborate skirt layered with organza or tulle and worn over a petticoat, designed with plainer fabric corset and is often accompanied by a train, tiara and a long trailing veil.
A gown that has become very popular recently and is featured in bridal magazines, boasts large fairytale gown skirts made from lots of luxurious fabrics embelished with one or more large romantic rose(s).
Classic Elegant gowns
These wedding gowns are elegant with their classic plain designs.
Sewn of luxurious material but with clean lines, they draw attention to the beauty of the bride rather than her gown.
Classic Elegant gowns can be backless. They can be worn with or without straps, and with or without a shawl or a bolero.
They can have a covered back and even sleeves and can be of knee, calf or full length.
This type of gown can also be adapted to incorporate with other styles and eras to accommodate the bride's personal taste and preference.
Since it is easy to pack and carry, the Classic Elegant gown style is a favorite amongst brides having destination weddings.
It is also the most popular style chosen by remarrying and older brides.
