Bringing Children?
Contessa's Suggestions |
Most brides should give a lot of thought about children attending
weddings. With the stepfamilies and children as part of the bridal party
some thought should be given to the problem of how children become bored
at a grown up event...Remember that---Some things are not for
children..This is one of them.....After dancing and getting underfoot-
what starts out being cute becomes annoying to the adults.
Some suggestions:
If the Hall/Reception area has a smaller room off the large one -- with
the doors being able to be locked on the other side so the children can
not leave the area except to come into the main area - this would be
perfect.. I would have coloring books, reading books, a pinata, sticker
books with stickers....tablets and pens-- some prizes with games played
and of course the most important element a few babysitters hired for the
period of time the wedding is on----the parents can relax and have a
good time and still check on their children but the children will be
happy and have a good time....Hire the babysitters carefully and plan
the events with them..... pin the tail---musical chairs--- the pinata
anything you can think of that will keep the children amused.....these
are items you can purchase way in advance --- even items in the dollar
store....with prizes and prices so good..you can afford to purchase a
lot -- even if you spend ten dollars every other week....until you spend
fifty dollars --- it will not break you pocket wise... even face
painting is a fun thing for kids...ask some friends who have children
and go with the suggestions.....stay away from loud items like balloons
and noisy items.
Trust Me.
I hope these suggestions help and of course as I stated the babysitters
are the most important!
The cost is worth it...Your sanity on that day is important!!!!!!
