One of a Kind Weddings -N- More by Gail by Lynn (Daughter) This passion for Crafting handmade items really began for Gail long ago when her Grandmother taught her to sew at about age 9. She could make anything come to life with her hands. Being just like her and coupled with a true artistic ability has led her into numerous avenues of Sewing - Crafting - Interior Decorating. Every home in our family has her work. Drapes; Valances; Bedspreads; Stenciling; Wallpaper; Ceramics. |
| With all of these talents, however, it was always a Wedding that really got her eyes to light up. Throughout the years, all weddings seem to have Gails' touch. From the Flowers, to the Dress, to the veil. She has turned a size 8 dress into a size 12. And actually took a off the rack, clearance special and turned it into a dress that looks like it cost $1,000. For one girl she took a picture of a veil from a Bridal Magazine - it could not have been but a thumbnail big, and duplicated it exactly. She later found out it was a designer veil and would have cost over $350, but she only charged $75. I truly believe that she really enjoys putting 15 hours a day into making these books and candles and such. It's obvious in the way her eyes light up when she talks to a bride about her wedding. For 20 years people had been telling her to start her own business, but with 3 Children and being the Mom who helped with every sport, trip, Church function, time was not conducive to this. As we grew older, the time came. After my Wedding 3 years ago where, of course, everything was made by her, she finally decided to take the plunge. And the number of products grows by the day. But one thing still remains, everything is handmade, hand beaded, and One of A Kind. I just help in the marketing and internet sales. With Craft shows throughout the year she could never make, package, market and ship everything. So although you will always get a product that came from Gails' hands, all of your correspondence will be through me. And believe me her time is better spent letting her create a truly beautiful product that will make your day special and perfect. |
